'Thor The Dark World' Villains Spoilers: Dark Elves & The Marauders, First VIDEO Clip Released
In a new statement, Marvel Studios executive producer Craig Kyle hinted that Thor: The Dark World will contain more than one villain.
The Dark Elves won't be the only antagonists in the Asgard realm. They will be accompanied by another group called The Marauders. These enemies were previously pictured on set in 2012 wearing all black attire and holding high-tech weapons. Their faces also appear to be deformed. See photos here.
Kyle also revealed that the film will pick-up one year following The Avengers incidents and two years after Thor.
"Expectations are high," he recently told Empire magazine. "By bringing director Alan Taylor into the mix, with his expertise on The Sopranos, Mad Men and Game Of Thrones, we came up with a take that allows us to get more into the nooks and crannies of Asgard and its people. We spend more time on the ground with the commoners, as opposed to in the palace. It's a very complicated blend [of genres: high science fiction, gritty fantasy, and realism]. Thor is, until Guardians of the Galaxy hits, by far our most wild, fringe Marvel piece. But that's why it's the Marvel Universe and not Marvel Earth."
Thor: The Dark World follows Thor as he attempts to save Earth and all the Nine Realms. The movie once again stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster.
A movie clip was also just released, which shows the extremes Thor has to go to in the sequel. Thor is heard telling his enemy, Loki, "I know you seek vengeance as much as I do. You help me escape Asgard and I will grant it to you."
To that, Loki responds, "You must be truly desperate to come to me for help. What makes you think you can trust me?"
Thor: The Dark World will be released on Nov. 8.
