Miley Cyrus' 'SNL' 2013 Monologue VIDEO: Twerking, VMAs 2013 Performance & Hannah Montana Jokes Included
Miley Cyrus was the musical guest and host of Saturday Night Live on Oct. 5 and started off her opening monologue talking about one of the things she is most known for: twerking.
"There will be no twerking tonight," the 20-year-old told the audience after being on stage for only a few seconds. "I used to think twerking was cool but now that white people are doing it, it seems kind of lame."
The We Can't Stop singer came on stage in a black and white, checkered two piece outfit that showed off her midriff. She paired the look with white sneakers and red lipstick.

Not being able to ignore the subject of her controversial performance at the 2013 Video Music Awards over the summer, Cyrus talked about all the complaints she got in the mail. She said she received letters from "anger mothers, turned on fathers, and, this is true, I actually got a complaint from the inventor of the giant foam finger."
"But it's OK. I gave him tickets to tonight's show so, we're all good right Jeff?" she added, and then turned to an audience member who was holding a giant "thumbs up" foam finger.
She added that she will also not be doing any Hannah Montana impressions, even saying that her Disney character was "murdered." The Wrecking Ball singer also said "I don't apologize for my VMA performance. if I owe anybody an apology, it's the people who make the bottom half of shirts."
Before the monologue started, the newly single star also appeared in the show's opening and spoofed her VMAs performance. Later on in the show Cyrus played an SNL head cheerleader and helped recreate the We Can't Stop music video - remade as celebration of the government shutdown. The respective sketch included Michele Bachman groping the Speaker over his mesh bra top, a french fry White House, an elephant bleeding Pepto Bismol and smoke radiating from Uncle Sam's crotch.
