Despite facing a very public split from fiance Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus is on top of the world.

The Wrecking Ball singer opened up on Monday's TODAY show, telling host Matt Lauer that despite recently calling off her engagement, "I'm the happiest I've ever been in my whole life."

Hemsworth reportedly decided to end the romance after Cyrus' 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance, where she rubbed up against Robin Thicke and made crude gestures with a giant foam finger. He thought it was "mortifying," the source revealed.

(The stars met three years ago on the set of their film The Last Song. They got engaged in the summer of 2012.)
