Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber Breakup Inspired 'Heartbreaker' New Song, He Hints [AUDIO]
Upon the release of his new song Heartbreaker on Monday, Justin Bieber hinted that it was written while he was getting over his breakup from Selena Gomez.
Bieber and Gomez began dating in 2011 and broke up in late 2012. Describing Heartbreaker -- off his upcoming, yet-untitled album -- and the inspiration behind it, Bieber said he penned the track when he was trying to mend his broken heart.
"It's a song for people going through a heartbreak - like I was when I wrote it," he wrote in the song's iTunes description, which he then posted on Twitter. "It means so much to me to be able to share what I was, and still am going through, with my fans. I'm very proud of this song and I hope it gives my fans some insight into my heart."

Rumors of the former couple getting back together exploded earlier in 2013 when photos surfaced of them online. In April, Bieber uploaded onto Instagram a photo of him sitting topless in a chair as Gomez hugs him from behind. He captioned the shot, " 'You've been making music for too long babe come cuddle' - her."
He posted another Instagram photo of him and his ex-girlfriend in July. The respective picture shows them sitting close together as Bieber takes the picture himself. He captioned the photo, #heartbreaker," a nod to his single with the same name.
Both singers are currently on their world tours promoting their latest albums -- Stars Dance for Gomez and Believe for Bieber.
