Snooki Anorexia Battle: 'I Went Days Without Eating,' Reality Star Reveals During 'Dancing With the Stars' [VIDEO]
Pint-sized reality star Snooki got emotional preparing for Monday night's Dancing With the Stars competition.
During rehearsals for her cheerleader-themed performance with pro partner Sasha Farber, Snooki said that in high school, she would go days without eating and fought back tears as she recalled her struggles with anorexia.
"Cheerleading was my life in high school but it wasn't always easy for me," she said. "I started to be anorexic."
Snooki, real name Nicole Polizzi, was on her cheerleading team at Marlboro High School in upstate New York as a teenager.
"There were these little girls coming up, like freshmen, who were literally, like, 70 pounds. And I was, like, my spot as a flier is going to get taken away, so I ended up starving myself."
She continued: "I started eating one salad a day, and then it became, like, one cracker a day, and then it became just one grape a day. And then ... just not eating at all for three days."
"It was a really, really bad time for me," she said.
After sharing her past struggled, she and her dance pro went on to perform in front of the judges.
Guest judge Julianne Hough commented: "You're like my little nugget. I love you. You're the cutest thing in the world."
Bruno also shared his love for Snooki telling her: "Oh Snooki, you're so fine, you blow my mind!" Carrie Ann Inaba also praised the star, telling her: "You are such a power packed little rocket full of energy."
