'Doctor Who' 50th Anniversary Special: Karen Gillan Will Not Appear, Amy Pond Not Set to Return VIDEO
Karen Gillan has finally answered a question that has been on the tip of many a Whovain tongue - will she feature in the Doctor Who 50 th Anniversary Special.
Unfortunately for fans of the Ponds, the answer appears to be a negative.
"I'm not in it, just to put that out there," Gillan recently said in an Interview with Radio Times.
The special, now known as "The Day of the Doctor," will feature the return of several past characters, a fact which prompted rumors that Amy Pond (Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) could make a return to the BBC series. Dubbed the "Glorius Ponds" and the Boy and Girl who waited, the two companions exited the show last season in "The Angels Take Manhatten."
