'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Trailer: New TV Spot Teases Katniss, Peeta & Gale Love Triangle [VIDEO]
A new TV spot for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was released Monday, featuring another glimpse into the dramatic sequel to 2012's The Hunger Games.
Walmart debuted the TV spot on their Facebook page Monday night and it made its first TV appearance during Monday night's episode of The Voice. The trailer features Atlas by Coldplay, which the band wrote exclusively for the film.
"Are you coming to the train station?" Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) asks Gale (Liam Hemsworth) at the beginning of the trailer. Gale replies, "I think you have enough people saying goodbye without me there."
At another point in the trailer, Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) confronts Katniss about always playing up their relationship for the cameras and not committing to it when the cameras are gone. Enstars previously reported that the love triangle between Katniss, Peeta and Gale would be more significant in Catching Fire than it was in the first Hunger Games.
The trailer also features a man pulling a gun on Katniss, who stands firmly and without fear. There is a significant focus on the events leading up to the next Hunger Games competition rather than the competition itself, much like the initial trailers for the first Hunger Games film.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire picks up after the events of the 74th Annual Hunger Games, in which Katniss and Peeta were crowned joint winners. As they go on their mandatory Victory Tour, Katniss becomes a symbol of hope for the people, which concerns those at the Capitol, especially President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
With the help of new Gamemaster Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman), Snow devises a new plan for the 75th Annual Hunger Games that forces past victors to compete against each other in the ultimate battle.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is scheduled for release on Nov. 22.
