Nina Dobrev & Derek Hough Breakup After 6 Weeks of Dating: Split Due to Long Distance
After dating for only six weeks, Derek Hough And Nina Dobrev have called it quits.
According to Us Weekly, a little than two weeks after their first public date on Oct. 5, the 28-year-old Dancing With The Stars pro and girlfriend have broken up.
A source revealed to the magazine that the couple was last seen together at Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights in L.A. They recently decided that their romance had "played itself out" and that the long distance played a huge part. Derek is currently filming DWTS in L.A., while Dorbrev, 24, is shooting The Vampire Diaries in Atlanta, Ga.
"The distance was too much to handle," the source said.
The pair made headlines of their new romance in late September. "[Nina] was hanging a lot with Derek's sister Julianne," a source said at the time. "Then she fell for him."
"Derek is smitten with Nina," the source added. "He said he hasn't felt this way for a girl in a long time...Everyone approves
Dobrev and Derek's sister, Julienne Hough have been friends for a long time and she allegedly fell for Derek while spending time with that family.
"Julianne understands -- there are no hard feelings," another source added about the Safe Haven star who broke up with her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder in May after three years of dating.
