Thursday's episode of Scandal is an explosive drama -- literally and figuratively.

In the sneak peek below for Mrs. Smith Goes To Washington, the White House tackles an issue they never have before. When Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) opens the door to the Oval Office, she sees an unidentified woman open her suit jacket to reveal she has a set of bombs strapped to her body.

Washington is then seen on the phone telling someone, "there are nine of us here and she has every intention of using that bomb."

"If you make a move we all die!" she yells.

ABC's official synopsis for episode 3, part of the show's third season, reads: A Midwestern mom hires Pope & Associates under mysterious conditions that lead to a very dangerous situation. Meanwhile, Fitz and Mellie admit their true feelings for each other."

The episode might also include follow-ups on last week's intriguing storylines including Pope's reconnection with her estranged father Rowan, who is the head of BC13 helped Jake's return.

Fans are curious to learn if her relationship with Huck has changed after he choked her. He was upset when he figured out that Pope's father was the head of his previous employer BC13, the private government agency that nearly killed him. The president expressing a continued interest in re-igniting the affair with Pope last week might also lead to him and Mellie discussing their true feelings for each other.

Episode 3 of Scandal's third season premieres Thursday at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
