Zac Efron confirmed he is not dating anyone right now during an interview on Tuesday night.

"I'm single," he said at a Yahoo Movies Q&A for his upcoming comedy That Awkward Moment with co-stars Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller.

The event was Efron's first official public appearance since news surfaced in September that the actor did a stint in rehab earlier in 2013 for addiction. On Sept. 27 he thanked fans for their support during the difficult time and said he is now focusing on his career.

Efron, who turns 26 on Friday, is in such good shape now that Teller said he likes to call him "mini-Wolverine." Thought not specifically referring his stay in rehab, Efron also talked about how he gets through difficult times.

"My family is my rock," he said. "I know they're not going anywhere [and] more and more, I've come to rely on my little brother (21-year-old Dylan Efron) to keep me grounded. And I know my family's always going to be there, but then there's also as life changes sometimes they can't really be there for you in the way that you need, so I rely on my friends."

A trailer for That Awkward Moment, released Wednesday, shows Efron naked as he lies over a toilet and in a separate scene, he arrives to a party with a large sex toy.

That Awkward Moment hits theaters Jan. 31, 2014.
