Zac Efron has spoken out about life after his stint in rehab.

"My family's my rock. I know they're not going anywhere," he said Tuesday while promoting his newest film That Awkward Moment in California. "I know they're not going anywhere. More and more I've come to rely on my little brother to keep me grounded. He's 21 now... I know my family's always going to be there."

This was Efron's first interview since news of his alleged struggle with drugs and a rehab stint made headlines in mid-September.

His comments came a little more than three weeks after he thanked fans for sticking by him through tough times. He posted an Instagram picture on Sept. 27 with the caption, "Hey guys! Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and wanted to thank you all for your support these past weeks...means the world to me. Love you guys! -Z"

E! News reported on Sept. 17 that Efron finished rehab about five months ago. One source the actor is now "is healthy, happy and not drinking. He's taking time to focus on working."

At the Parkland premiere at the Toronto International Film earlier in the year he said about his health status "I'm good, real good."

Though Efron has not spoken directly about what sparked his visit to rehab, TMZ reported that his struggle was with cocaine. It started while he was filming Seth Rogen's Neighbors movie, according to the website. Efron allegedly missed several days on the set.

"It was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine," an unnamed source said.
