Kelly Clarkson is getting ready for the holiday season with her new song Underneath The Tree.

"You're all that I need underneath the tree. Tonight I'm gonna hold you close. Make sure that you know, I was lost before you," she sings on the upbeat tune. "Christmas was cold and grey. Another holiday alone to celebrate, but then one day everything changed."

The original song is the first single released from her upcoming Christmas album Wrapped In Red. The festive record will include more original tracks, as well as Christmas classics, including White Christmas and Baby, It's Cold Outside. There will also be an a cappella version of Silent Night.

"I've been dying to make a Christmas album," she told Billboard in the latest issue. "I always get asked what genre I'm in: 'Is this country or pop or rock? What are you?... And what's cool about making the Christmas album was, 'Oh, there are no limitations! We can do whatever we want!'"

Wrapped In Red hits stores on Oct. 29. Clarkson will promote the album with a NBC holiday special, Kelly Clarkson's (Cautionary) Christmas Tale, which will air in early December.

"The thing about Christmas is that it almost doesn't matter what mood you're in or what kind of a year you've had-it's a fresh start," Clarkson also told Billboard. "I'm going to clear the air and take stock of the good that's happened."

Aside from her Christmas album, Clarkson also has other big plans on the way. The 31-year-old will soon elope with her fiancé, Brandon Blackstock. She explained the couple's decision to People.

"We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, 'So we change our minds and we want to elope,'" she said in August. "We just got so overwhelmed by the decisions."
