Tom Welling Divorce to Jamie White Filed for 'Smallville' Star After 10 Years of Marriage
Jamie White Welling, wife of Smallville star Tom Welling, filed divorce documents in Los Angeles on Oct. 16 to end the couple's 10-year marriage, People confirmed.
White Welling, a model, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split and asked for spousal support. The documents stated that the couple, who do not have any children, separated in December 2012.
The pair reportedly met in a Miami coffee shop in 1998 and they wed four years later in Martha's Vineyard, according to the magazine. His Smallville co-stars Kristin Kreuk and Michael Rosenbaum were in attendance.
The couple lived in Vancouver, where Smallville was filmed, for most of their marriage. They moved to Los Angeles in 2011 after the show ended.
The couple has made no public announcement about their divorce proceedings via their reps.
Smallville aired on The CW from 2001-2011. The series was about a young Clark Kent struggling to find his place in the world as he learns to harness his Superman powers for good while dealing with the troubles of teenage life in Smallville. Since the show ended the actor has kept a low profile.
He served as the executive producer of the TV series Hellcats, which focused on the lives of college cheerleaders and starred Ashley Tisdale, and appeared as a Secret Service agent in the 2013 film Parkland. The movie also starred Zac Efron, Billy Bob Thornton, Paul Giamatti and Marcia Gay Harden.
He next film, Draft Day, is in post-production with a release date scheduled for some time in 2014, according to IMDb.The drama also stars Jennifer Garner, Kevin Costner, Terry Crews, Sam Elliott and Rosanna Arquette.
