'Crazy Sexy Cool' The TLC Movie Story, Premieres Monday, Oct. 21 at 9pm EST on VH1 (VIDEO)
VH1 will premiere the televised biopic about the Grammy Award-winning female group on Monday.
In the made-for-tv movie titled Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Movie, Keke Palmer portrays Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas, Drew Sidora plays Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and rapper Lil' Mama plays the group's late member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.
The two-hour movie will feature the ups and downs the multiplatinum girl group endured after they hit the music scene in the 1990s. It also chronicles their financial struggles and troubled love lives, including the moment Lopes infamously burned down the house of then boyfriend/NFL player Andre Rison.
The story also relives Watkins' struggle with sickle cell anemia and Thomas' relationship with music producer Dallas Austin. Austin won two Grammys for creating several hits for the girl group and he also fathered Thomas' child during their relationship in 1997. The movie will also document Lopes' fatal car crash during a spiritual retreat in Honduras in 2002.
Thomas and Watkins served as executive producers and consultants for the film. It was written by screenwriter Kate Lanier (What's Love Got To Do With It, Set it Off) and directed by Charles Stone III (Drumline, Paid in Full).
