Aishwarya Rai Turned Down Troy Role With Brad Pitt; Beti B to Debut at Cannes Festival?
Bollywood legend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan reportedly turned down an offer to star alongside Brad Pitt in Hollywood blockbuster "Troy".
The role of Briseis was offered to Aishwarya first by director Wolfgang Peterson. Briseis is a character who is very good-looking so Wolfgang was keen on touting Aishwarya, who has been dubbed the world's "most beautiful woman".
The Bollywood actress refused the role because she was not comfortable to film intimate scenes, according to the Bollywood Mantra. The role eventually went to Rose Byrne.
Troy was released in 2004 and included an all-star case, including Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, and Diane Kruger. The film grossed nearly $500 million worldwide.
Aishwarya gave birth to her child Nov. 16 last year. Since then, she has topped the ideal celebrity mother list in Bollywood. She is likened to Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, according to Shaadi.com.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and husband Abhishek Bachchan recently appeared on Oprah's show, which aired April 22. Her fans were hoping to get a glimpse of her daughter at the show, but unfortunately she was not even mentioned during the show.
Recent reports suggested that Aishwarya's Beti B will be traveling to the 65th Cannes International Film Festival in France along with her mother. They are expected to attend the event, which is scheduled to take place between May 16 and 27.
