Hollywood donors raised nearly $15 million for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign at George Clooney's house in Los Angeles.

The amount is the highest for a single fundraiser, according to the Associated Press.

The dinner was hosted at the basketball court of Clooney's luxurious Studio City house.

About 150 of Obama's Hollywood donors attended paying $40,000 each, according to reports.

The dinner was held at a tent with transparent roof. The tables were decorated with blue hydrangeas and the roof was decorated with white paper lanterns of different sizes, the Washington Post reports.

Among the celebrities attending were Stacy Kiebler, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Salma Hayek, Barbra Streisand and Tobey Maguire, reports the Washington Post.

Obama, present at the dinner, gave compliments to Clooney.

“We raised a lot of money because everybody loves George. They like me, they love him. And rightfully so," Obama said.

"Not only is he an unbelievable actor, but he is one of those rare individuals who is at ease with everybody. He seems to occupy a constant state of grace, and uses his extraordinary talents on behalf of something truly important,” Obama said according to the Post.

Obama reportedly told those attending that the famous "Hope" posted of his 2008 campaign was based on a photograph of Obama and Clooney advocating on behalf of Darfur.

"This is the first time that George Clooney has ever been photo-shopped out of a picture," Obama joked to loud laughs from the public.
