Kristen Stewart Cheating on Robert Pattinson; Rupert Sanders' Wife Liberty Ross Speaks on 2012 Affair: 'It Was Horrible'
The woman scorned in Kristen Stewart's summer 2012 infidelity scandal has opened up for the first time.
The actress cheated on then boyfriend Robert Pattinson with filmmaker Rupert Sanders reportedly during and after filming the movie he directed her in, 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman.
Sanders' wife at the time, British model Liberty Ross, recently gave an interview about the extramarital affair that came to light when published images showed her husband being intimate with Stewart. Ross told Vanity Fair in its December issue the cheating scandal was "horrible."
"It was really the worst, really the worst." the model-turned-actress said. "I have no words to describe what we went through. But I think, for me, something always has to completely die for there to be a rebirth," she said. "And, for me, I feel like I'm going through a rebirth."
Her brother, Atticus Ross, described the experience following the scandal as "f---in crazy."
"To some extent at that moment, Rupert was in denial, and Liberty didn't know what was going to happen," Atticus revealed. "I'm texting people because I know this is going to be huge," he recalled. "I knew this had all the makings of what our world has become. This is going to be f**king big, and Liberty needs to be protected."
Once Liberty learned about the affair, she knew her marriage to Sanders was over.
"I'm not a quitter. I've done everything I could to be the perfect wife and mother and really support my husband. But I just didn't have any more to give, you know?"
Sanders and Stewart were photographed being intimate in public on July 17. Us Weekly obtained the exclusive images and spoke to a source who witnessed the affair.
Ross told Vanity Fair that Sanders confessed to cheating 20 hours before the story broke.

Stewart publicly confessed to the affair after intimate photos surfaced on the web of the pair together. She released a public apology for cheating on Pattinson, whom she had been dating for three years. During their relationship, they played the leads as on-screen loves in the Twilight franchise.
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," the actress said in a statement at the time. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
After she issued her public apology, People magazine published a photo of Stewart and Sanders dining together in May 2012.
Us Weekly reported that Pattinson was "heartbroken and angry" by the affair. He was reportedly several weeks away from proposing to Stewart.
According to Gossipcop, Stewart never had sex with the director. Sources revealed that she only kissed Sanders, it was just "a mistake" and that she "feels awful."
