'Real Housewives of Orange County' Vicki Gunvalson Quitting? Blames Show for Divorce, It 'Broke Up My Family'
Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson said reality television is the reason her and ex-husband, Donn, split and confessed she's tempted to quit the Bravo show.
In an interview with Digital Spy published on Thursday, Oct. 31, Gunvalson said the show was just another factor in an already strained marriage.
"I think the show had a lot to do with me getting divorced... I wonder where Donn and I would be now if we didn't do the show," she said. "But we elected to do the show together as a family. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for us. A lot of people it does, and a lot of people it doesn't, so it's hard."
She also said that while it's not all bad when it comes to sharing your life for the world to see for nine years, one of the main downsides is that it "broke up [her] family."
Considering that she continuously gets hate mail, the reality star added that she's always tempted to leave the show.
"It's not easy to be judged, to be ridiculed, to be talked down to, to get nasty emails about: 'You're ugly, you're this, you're too old, you're too fat, you're too skinny, you're too short. The viewers are not typically very nice," she said.
However, Gunvalson stars on Real Housewives of Orange County season after season in order to share her story while inspiring and motivating others.
"I try to bring some good to the show, as best as I can, to inspire single women that maybe have never worked and they don't have a degree and how are they going to support their family, well, if there's a will there's a way."
