Liam Hemsworth 'Catching Fire' Star Dishes On An Unfiltered Jennifer Lawrence, Why The South Is Like Australia on Jay Leno VIDEO
Liam Hemsworth is currently busy filming the third Hunger Games installment but the Australian actor stopped by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno to discuss Catching Fire and his incredibly uncensored costar, Jennifer Lawrence.
Reprising his role as Gale Hawthorne, Katniss Everdeen's (Lawrence) original District 12 love interest, Hemsworth's character is quickly caught up in a rising rebellion on the eve of the Quarter Quell edition of the Hunger Games.
"Catching Fire begins right after Peeta [Josh Hutcherson] and Katniss come back form the Hunger Games," Hemsworth explained. "Their relationship is more complicated; Gale's relationship...is more complicated."
While the 23-year-old actor refers to Lawrence as one of the best actresses he's ever worked with, Hemsworth says the Silver Linings Playbook star is completely unfiltered on set.
"On set she's an absolute maniac, in the best way possible. There's no filter," Hemsworth told Leno. "Right before action, literally a second before action, she'll turn to me and ask me if I'd had sex with a kangaroo...then they'll call action and she'll go deadpan and walk straight into the scene and I'm standing like this, like 'What are we doing?'"
The pair is currently working together in Atlanta, Ga. on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2.
"The South is a wonderful place," Hemsworth said of the shooting location used for Catching Fire. "Savannah was the first place I shot when I came over to America and it was just beautiful. Southern people remind me a lot of Australians, they like to drink beer and have barbeques."
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theaters on Nov. 22.
