Lady Gaga is all set to become the first artist to sing in outer space with a performance on the Virgin Atlantic ship in 2015, according to Us Weekly.

The 27-year-old is slated to sing a single track during the Zero G Colony high-tech musical festival in New Mexico. She is reportedly headlining the festival and will be belting out a tune from outer space in one of Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic ships, the track will be beamd down to New Mexico on the third day of the festival at dawn.

"She has to do a month of vocal training because of the atmosphere," a source said, adding that the musician had taken out "a ridiculous life insurance policy" in the chance of any unlikely event in space.

Branson gifted Kate Winslet and Ned RocknRoll space tickets as a wedding present in 2012. Justin Bieber signed up for a seat in June 2012 and Leonardo DiCaprio won his at a charity auction held at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

Gaga's new album, ARTPOP, is scheduled for release on Nov. 11.

In a recent interview with O2 for Mailonline, Gaga spoke about the new record.

"On the album I say 'we could belong together ARTPOP,' so in the simplest way I would say the dream of these two things belonging, art and pop together but with art in the front," she said. "We sort of like to say if we can belong together you and I, or me and my fans - if we can belong together in this room and make love then maybe our dream of these two things - art and pop- belonging together, maybe that could come true."

The pop star went on to say that album was "a reverse of Warhol." She added, "Instead of putting pop onto the canvas, we wanted to put the art onto the soup can.
