Luke Bryan, 'Drink a Beer,' CMA Awards 2013 Performance VIDEO
Luke Bryan took the stage at the Country Music Awards to perform Drink A Beer.
Dedicating the song to his deceased brother and sister, Bryan gave a tear-jerking performance. Surrounded by wooded scenery and a rising fog, Bryan performed a stoic rendition of his new single with the help of one of the song's writers, Chris Stapleton (Jim Beavers co-wrote).
"This is the coolest sad song ever," Bryan said, according to Great American Country. "It holds a special place in my heart and I am honored the writers allowed me to record it."
Nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year, Bryan was also up for Musical Event of the Year for his collaboration with Jason Aldean and Eric Church on The Only Way I Know.
Bryan released his fourth studio album, Crash My Party, in August of 2013. The album charted No. 1 on Billboards Canadian Albums, US Billboard 200, US Billboards Top Country Albums, and Us Billboard Digital Albums while also spawning two No. 1 hits, Crash My Party and That's My Kind of Night. His 2011 album, Tailgates and Tanlines, resulted in over ten awards from various outlets.
Drink A Beer was released to radios on Nov. 4.
