Chris Brown Rehab; 'Fine China' Singer's Mom Says Friends Are a Bad Influence 'No New Friends, Not Sure About That'
Chris Brown is known for getting into his share of trouble, but his mom, Joyce Hawkins, thinks his friends have lots to do with it.
According to TMZ, the Turn Up the Music singer's mom thinks his friends are a group of thugs who are after his money and fame. She also believes they are the reason he has an addition to smoking marijuana.
Brown was ordered to leave rehab, 13 days after checking in on Oct. 29. because he threw a rock at Hawkins' car after she tried to convince him to get more help during a family session.
That same day, Hawkins tweeted, "My angel with broken wings. God loves you so much and I do as well."
In September, she had a series of tweets that were allegedly directed toward Brown's group of friends.
She wrote, "Please stay out of the pictures please. No one is checking for you....'No new friends, not sure about about that. New friends may bring a breath of fresh air...Keep an eye on the one who always pretending to be friends with everyone and wanting to be seen at all times."
Still, a source said told Hollywood Life that Hawkins and Brown are still on good terms and are working through their differences.
"Joyce loves her boy and is not giving up on him. She comes from a position of power, she's a proud black woman and she's strong."
They went on to reveal that while sometimes Brown sees her tough love as "telling him what to do" they've done family counseling sessions together.
