Spirit Awards 2014 Nominees, Full List Revealed Live as Nominations are Announced
Octavia Spencer (Fruitvale Station) and Paula Patton (Precious) announced the nominees for the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Tuesday, and Enstars has a list of the nominations as they are announced live.
Nominations for the 29th annual awards ceremony took place at The W Hollywood at a 10 a.m. PST press conference.
Winners for the Indie Spirit Awards will be announced Saturday, March 1, 2014 in Santa Monica and will air later that evening on IFC at 10 p.m. PST/EST. Actor/comedian Patton Oswalt will host the awards ceremony.
The Indie Spirit Awards honor the achievements of American independent filmmakers and independent films.
Last year, some of the winners were as follows:
Best Feature went to Silver Linings Playbook, Best Director went to David O. Russell for Silver Linings Playbook, Best Screenplay also went to Russell, Best Male Lead went to John Hawkes for The Sessions, Best Female Lead went to Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Linings Playbook, Best Supporting Male went to Matthew McConaughey for Magic Mike, and Best Supporting Female went to Helen Hunt for The Sessions. Other winners in smaller categories included Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Safety Not Guaranteed.
