Jessica Sanchez Performs 'I Have Nothing,' 'The Prayer' on American Idol Finale [VIDEOS]
Jessica Sanchez' two best performances tonight were Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" and Celine Dion's "The Prayer."
The 16-year-old singer from San Diego, California wowed judges with the performances and her fans turned to Facebook and Twitter to show her support.
"Jessica deserves the title, she's way more talented!" one fan wrote on Facebook Tuesday.
"Jessica is the rightful idol! She deserves to win" another weighed in.
When she performed "I Have Nothing" by Houston, the judges said she bested Phillip Phillips. When she sang "The Prayer" they declared it a tie.
Sanchez' last performance "Change Nothing" didn't impress the judges but they still acknowledged her powerful vocals.
"I did not love the song but what I did love is you made something more out of that song. You have that Beyonce kind of swag. You brought the song to life but I thought the song was just OK," judge Randy Jackson said.
If Sanchez wins she will be the first female competitor to get the title since Jordin Sparks in 2007. She would also become the youngest contestant to win on American Idol.
The results show will air tomorrow.
