'Homeland' Season 3 Spoilers: Brody's Mission in Iran Will Not Go As Planned [VIDEO]
In the last few episodes of Homeland season 3, Brody (Damian Lewis) will find that his mission in Iran won't go as planned.
In the latest episode of Homeland, Brody was sent to Iran to assassinate the leader of the Revolutionary Guard so that Javadi (Shaun Toub) could ascend to power and be an asset to the U.S. However, the plan will not go perfectly, as Lewis teased to Entertainment Weekly recently.
"He's going to go on his mission, which will be far from straight forward," Lewis teased. "It will be fraught with problems and doubt and hurdles, both personal and physical, that he will have to overcome."
Lewis also discussed Brody's thought process going into the mission and whether or not he thinks he'll come out of it alive.
"Having recovered from his condition and being a part of something bigger than him, seemingly doing something for good, is what mostly preoccupies him," Lewis said. "I think he's happy to be involved in something that he can atone for some of the mistakes he's made in his life."
Lewis added that somewhere deep inside of Brody he wants to return home and tell his family that he did a good thing as well as be with Carrie. However, there is only so much he can say publicly, considering the entire Iranian mission is an act of intelligence.
