It might be a bit of a longer wait for Fast and Furious fans as the filming for the seventh installment has been put on hold in the wake of Paul Walker's death.

It is also being suggested that major changes will be made to plot and script as Walker played a key role in the film.

Most of the cast members are also devastated by the news and are in no condition to work on the film right now. Co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Vin Diesel seem to have been deeply affected by Walker's death.

In a recent interview, Walker had recently confirmed that the eighth installment of the film will happen.

"Well, the studio supposedly wants 8, 9, and 10. I'll be 50. Even if 7 were to [tank], there's at least an 8. That's a guarantee," he said. "The thing that's pretty crazy is that neither Vin nor I were going back to do the third one. They were going to do a direct-to-video- 4. They were going to dispose it and be done with it."

Walker died on Nov. 30 in a car crash in Santa Clarita, California. He was the passenger in a car being driven by his friend, race car driver Roger Rodas, who also died in the accident. The speeding car hit a tree and instantly burst into flames, causing both the actor and Rodas to die on the spot. The actor was headed home after attending a charity event for his foundation, Reach Out Worldwide.

Walker's 15-year-old daughter was also present at the charity event.
