With Gal Gadot officially cast as Wonder Woman, the cast on Man of Steel 2 is increasing, with new details on a villain role.

Amid the hype of Gadot's casting as Wonder Woman, Variety also reported a detail about who Warner Bros. is looking to cast for the villain role in Man of Steel 2, a.k.a. Batman vs. Superman.

Callan Mulvey (Zero Dark Thirty, 300: Rise of the Empire) is reportedly the main choice to play the unnamed villain, according to Variety.

The New Zealand-born actor could be playing Lex Luthor, the infamous supervillain and nemesis to Superman or potentially Doomsday, another villain rumored to be in the film.

There are also rumors spreading that the villain Metallo will be the primary antagonist in the film, according to ThinkMcFlyThink. Metallo is a cyborg with a metallic body, allowing him to forego eating, sleeping and breathing.

Thus far, Warner Bros. has cast most of its major players for Man of Steel 2, with Henry Cavill returning as Superman, Ben Affleck playing Batman and Gadot playing Wonder Woman. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are also returning to their roles as Lois Lane, Perry White and Martha Kent, respectively.

Main production is slated to begin on Man of Steel 2 in early 2014, which means that Warner Bros. will likely be unveiling new cast announcements within the next few weeks or months.

Man of Steel 2 is scheduled for release in theaters on July 17, 2015.
