It's time once more for the year's greatest musical hits to battle it out in the Grammy nominations.
The full list of nominees will be announced after the Grammy Nomination Concert on Dec. 6. Set to air at 10 p.m. on CBS, the concert brings together some of the industry's most popular acts and spans across the globe.
Hosted by rapper/actor LL Cool J, the event will feature performances from Earth, Wind & Fire, T.I. with Robin Thicke, Miguel, country's Kieth Urban, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and New Zealand's breakout sensation, Lorde. Although the concert will rock Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre L.A., Taylor Swift will perform from Australia while Katy Perry will entertain from Canada (see video below).
Many fans will be rooting for their favorites in major categories like Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Rock Album, Best Rap Album and Best Country Album, but the 56th Annual Grammy Awards will have 82 categories. The high number of awards leaves room for the program to acknowledge the achievements of all genres and all aspects of the music industry.
