James Righton and Keira Knightley to Marry
Keira Knightley is engaged! The "Pirates of the Caribbean" beauty is engaged to James Righton of the rock band Klaxons, star's publicist Sara Keene confirmed today. She added that the newly engaged couple, who remained out of the spotlight, were not releasing any details of the proposal and had no comment on wedding plans, reports AP.
Keira, 27, was first noticed after co-starring in "Bend It Like Beckham". She then appeared in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film series starring alongside Johnny Depp which brought her international fame. She was Hollywood's second highest paid actress in 2008, according to Forbes. She reportedly earned $32 million in 2007.
The actress received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her role in "Pride and Prejudice". She received another nomination for Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role in "Atonement". Her latest project is "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World".
Her fiance James Righton, 28, is a co-vocalist and keyboardist of London-based new rave band Klaxons. British television presenter Alexa Chung reporteldy introduced him to Keira in February 2011.
Keira dated actor Rupert Friend for five years before they split in January 2011.
