‘Captain America The Winter Soldier’ Spoilers: Potential Cross-Over Between Film and ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Revealed? [VIDEO]
Marvel Studios may be doing another cross-over between one of its major franchise films and its new ABC show, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The recent introduction of Thor's Agent Sitwell on the television show in December has started rumors about a potential crossover between the show and the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Agent Sitwell, who was previously more in the background for the Thor films, will be playing a larger role in Winter Soldier, though it unclear just how big his part will be.
Action figure toys have already been released for the 2014 film, with the official Marvel Legends figures for Steve Rogers/Captain America, Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier now available.
Agent Sitwell will be another character released in toy form, news that was initially revealed in November by MTV News. He will be part of the Diamond Select Toys,' popular two-inch tall Minimate figurines, that will be made especially for the film.
The Minimates being released for the film will include a Stealth Uniform Captain America with Crossbones, Final Battle Captain America with Winter Soldier, Black Widow with Falcon and Agent Sitwell with Batroc.
In Winter Soldier, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) struggles to figure out his role in the modern world of Washington D.C. When a powerful and shadowy enemy known as the Winter Soldier begins threatening his very existence, he teams up with Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) and newcomer The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) to fight him.
Also starring Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford, Sebastian Stan, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St. Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernandez, Captain America: The Winter Soldier arrives in theaters April 4, 2014.
