Mad Men star Jon Hamm leaves behind his Don Draper character to play J.B. Bernstein, a sports agent who stages an unconventional recruitment strategy in an attempt to salvage his career in Million Dollar Arm.

In a new trailer for the film, released Monday, fans see the lead character on the verge of making the biggest deal of his career, but then finding out that everything is going downhill. The Disney movie also shows him being arrogant and having commitment issues at first, but he later tries to win the heart of the kind doctor-next-door, played by Lake Bell.

Informed by business partner Aasif Mandvi that he is out of money and after he saw a potential client get signed by someone else, J.B. heads to India to recruit talented cricket players in hopes of finding Major League Baseball's next great pitchers.

Aside from helping him bring his career back up to where it once was, the new recruits also convince J.B. that he should realize that Bell is the woman for him. The recruits and Hamm also create somewhat of an "alternative family" as they get closer to each other.

Alan Arkin plays as a veteran scout and Bill Paxton is a skeptical pitching coach.

Based on a true story, Million Dollar Arm is due in theaters May 16, 2014, and Mad Men returns early next year as well.
