Blake Lively on Leaving Gossip Girl: 'It'll be Bittersweet When It's Over '
Blake Lively can't wait to move on from CW series Gossip Girl.
Lively who stars as Manhattan socialite Serena van der Woodsen in the popular series, will begin shooting the sixth and final season of "Gossip Girl" this summer.
“It’ll be bittersweet when it’s over because it gave me all of this,” the actress told Bullet Magazine recently.
“I think the best way to describe it is like someone who really enjoyed high school, and is like, I’m a senior and I can’t wait for the next thing! Gossip Girl was so great, but what’s the next challenge in life?" she said.
"Because, you know, six years is a long time. And as an actor who plays a caricature of myself on the show, I don’t think I’d say, Watch Gossip Girl for my best quality of work. But I am very lucky to have had that experience,” she added.
Lively was raised in California and moved to New York City to film "Gossip Girl" in 2007.
She will appear in Oliver Stone's "Savages," which hits theaters in July. The highly anticipated dramatic thriller also stars Taylor Kitsch, John Travolta, Salma Hayek and Benicio del Toro. Lively stars as the girlfriend of two pot growers that is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel.
Stone said a lot of the content in the movie like the sex, violence, and drugs was probably scary and challenging for Blake.
"It ain’t a Disney World ride and it certainly ain’t the Upper East Side,” Stone told Bullet Magazine.
