Captain America: The Winter Soldier isn't slated to be released in theaters until April 2014, but spoilers and sneak peeks at the film continue to emerge months in advance.

The newest sneak peek appears on the cover of the UK magazine, Empire, which features the upcoming Marvel flick on its cover.

The magazine promotes Chris Evans' Steve Rogers/Captain America, Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier on its cover, which advertises that the movie is one of their 25 must-sees for 2014.

The cover manages to showcase the newest adventures of the First Avenger and how they will be a bit more dark compared to the situations the character faced in the first film. Not only is The Captain's newer and darker uniform showcased, but Stan's Winter Soldier character is seen without his face mask, something that hides his identity in the early trailers of the film.

This exclusive photo instead shows the character without his mask and with his face fully exposed for the first time, with only a black line of makeup across his eyes in an attempt to still shield his identity.

This lack of concealed identity hints that the character could eventually reveal his true identity to the Captain at some point during the film.

In the new film, Steve Rogers finds himself trying to adjust to the modern day life in Washington D.C., when he begins to sense something isn't entirely right with S.H.I.E.L.D. At the same time, he must team up with Black Widow and newcomer The Falcon (Anthony Mackie), when he has to deal with the shadowy reappearance of The Winter Soldier-a.k.a. Steve Rogers' former partner who was left for dead and later brainwashed into a super assassin by the Russians. Barnes is on a new mission: to kill Steve.

The new issue of Empire his stands Dec. 31.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens in theaters April 4, 2014.
