'Man of Steel 2' News: Denzel Washington NOT Playing Green Lantern Despite Reports? [VIDEO]
There is no truth to the report that Denzel Washington was being tapped to play Green Lantern in Man of Steel 2, according to updated reports.
Despite the widely spread report by Nuke the Fridge that Washington was being considered for Green Lantern in the highly anticipated Man of Steel 2, prominent film blogger El Mayimbe denounced the report as unfounded.
"Nuke the fridge are a bunch of cornballs," Mayimbe tweeted recently. "That Denzel/Green Lantern rumor is not only laughable but straight up BBUULLS--T!"
In addition to the rumors that Washington would be playing Green Lantern, he was also speculated to be playing Lex Luthor by another publication called Think Mcfly Think. Warner Bros. has not confirmed that Washington is being tapped to play any characters in Man of Steel 2.
Thus far into pre-production, Warner Bros. has only confirmed six actors who are set to appear in Man of Steel 2. The lead roles of Batman and Superman will be played by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, respectively. Fast & Furious actress Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman in what will likely be a supporting role.
