'Breaking Bad' Fan Busted On Felony Drug Charges Months After Watching Series Finale With TV Series Cast [VIDEO]
One Breaking Bad fan is facing some legal troubles months after he won a contest for the show.
Ryan Lee Caroll won a contest last September that gave him the opportunity to watch the Breaking Bad series finale with the cast. He was even picked up at the airport by the show's lead character Aaron Paul.
The fan was given the chance with the help of Paul and his wife Lauren Parsekian's charity effort for their anti-bullying organization, The Kind Campaign.
On Jan. 1, 28-year-old Caroll, a Florida resident of San Carlos Park, was arrested on "felony charges of possession of a synthetic narcotic with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was also charged with a misdemeanor offense of keeping a shop or vehicle with dangerous drugs," reported the New York Daily News on Jan. 2.
It was not made clear by the report exactly all the drugs Caroll was selling, but there was a mention of more than $1 million in synthetic marijuana seized from the house. Police also seized a HAZMAT suit, (the same suits they wore to cook their meth) which was signed by the cast of Breaking Bad. The suit may have come in handy to Caroll more than the cast originally thought.
"If you start watching it you can't stop. It's highly addicting just like the meth they make," Carll said to the Fort Myers news station, in September.
One of Caroll's neighbors told the newspaper, "It's just kind of mind-boggling to think stuff like that can happen right next to you. We still don't even know what was going on."
Other neighbors, however, weren't as shocked by the news, including Randy Hughes.
"You knew something was up. They either had a very successful business, or they were up to something they shouldn't be. Every day, FedEx deliveries," Hughes told the New York Daily News.
