'Man of Steel 2' News: 'Batman vs. Superman' Budget Revealed for Michigan Location [VIDEO]
With production about to begin on Man of Steel 2, new details about the production budget have been released.
The proposed budget for Man of Steel 2 to film in Michigan is $131 million, according to Michelle Grinnell, public relations manager of the Michigan Film Office. This is the largest production set to be filmed in Michigan in its history, breaking the record previously set by Oz: The Great and Powerful, which was filmed in 2011.
Grinnell said that there is excitement in the air for the highly anticipated Man of Steel 2, unofficially titled Batman vs. Superman.
"It's the film where Batman and Superman meet for the first time on the Big Screen," Grinnell told The Inquisitr.
The film is expected to give Michigan an added $5 million to its own budget, a much-needed boost for a state that's currently struggling. It is also expected to add about 6,000 jobs for the people of Michigan.
Much of Man of Steel 2 will be filmed at Michigan Motion Pictures Studio in Pontiac.
Man of Steel 2 brings together some of the world's biggest movie stars, including Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Other actors include Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
There has been speculation that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is getting involved in the film as well, though Warner Bros. has not confirmed his casting.
Man of Steel 2 is scheduled for release in theaters in July 17, 2015.
