The 2014 Golden Globes are less than a week away, and some of the year's most powerful and entertaining movies have been nominated for Best Picture.
The Golden Globes split up the Best Picture race into two separate categories: Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical.
The nominees for Best Motion Picture - Drama are 12 Years a Slave, Captain Phillips, Gravity, Philomena and Rush.
As for which film will win the prize, awards prognosticators are split between historical epic 12 Years a Slave and innovative space drama Gravity.
The nominees for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical are American Hustle, Her, Inside Llewyn Davis, Nebraska and The Wolf of Wall Street.
The consensus choice for this category among awards predictors is American Hustle, the entertaining '70s-era film with such stars as Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper.
