AMC's The Walking Dead continues to garner buzz for the second half of its fourth season, which will be returning in February.

One of the questions that's surely on loyalists' minds is if the recently scattered group members will continue to face the threat of the flu outbreak that was behind the deaths of various individuals its first half storyline.

Special effects creator and producer Greg Nicotero had spoken to Channel Guide on Dec. 31, and addressed the relevant issue, which he said may still be present.

"Yeah, it's very possible! I really don't want to ruin anything, because I tend to talk a lot and I don't want to give anything away and then in February you'll call me and say, 'You a-hole! You @#$%ing ruined that for me!'"

Being that the people in Cellblock A aren't around the late Hershel (Scott Wilson) or Bob (Lary Gilliard Jr.) on their bus, it's certainly feasible that the virus is still out there.

The Walking Dead is set to make its return to the small screen for episode 9, its mid-season premiere on Sunday, Feb.4 at 9/8 p.m. Central Standard Time.
