'Diary Of A Teenage Girl': Alexander Skarsgard, Kristen Wiig Starring In Affair-Ridden Coming-Of-Age Movie?
Kristen Wiig and Alexander Skarsgard have signed on to star in a new coming-of-age drama, titled Diary of a Teenage Girl.
It was announced on Variety that the Bridesmaids star and the True Blood star would be in the film about a teenage artist who has an affair with her mother's boyfriend.
British actress Bel Powley will don the role of the teenager. Powley's previous credits include Murderland and M.I. High. She's also done theater work, including Royal Court Theatre's West End production of Tusk Tusk and Tom Stoppard's Arcadia on Broadway.
Diary of a Teenage Girl is based on a graphic novel written by Phoebe Gloeckner.
The film will be shooting in San Francisco and will be directed by Marielle Heller. This is Heller's first directing gig. She is also an actress with credits that include MacGruber and A Walk Among the Tombstones.
Diary of a Teenage Girl currently has no release date.
Wiig's most recent roles include Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and numerous appearances on Saturday Night Live. Skarsgard's most recent roles include True Blood, The East and Disconnect.
