'The Mentalist' Season 6 Spoilers: Agent Lisbon's Boyfriend Revealed, Slated For Five-Episode Arc [VIDEO]
The Mentalist's Agent Lisbon is getting a boyfriend, and details have finally emerged about her new beau.
Although it remains unclear if Lisbon (Robin Tunney) had any significant relationships in the two years since the desolation of the CBI, the investigator will be pursuing new opportunities now that she has set up shop in Austin.
Set to debut in episode 16, FBI Agent Marcus Pike is "a charming man with integrity, a blue collar cop with FBI smarts," according to TV Line. Drawn together by an investigation into an art theft, the duo will stay together for at least five episodes.
This pairing comes as bad news to those who wish to see Lisbon and Jane togeather during season 6. Five episodes with Pike puts The Mentalist dangerously close to the end of the season, although series creator Bruno Heller states that Lisbon needs to have solid relationships outside of her friendship with Jane in order to possibly move forward with him.
"In order for her to fulfill herself - even if she eventually fulfills herself with Jane, which she may or may not do - she has to find other relationships, other perspectives, other people who love her, just to feel fully who she is," Heller said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "It's very important for her to be able to step away from Jane and see herself for herself."
