Kevin Costner, Stephen Baldwin Head to Court for Lawsuit; Jury Selection Begins
They jury selection has begun in Stephen Baldwin's lawsuit against Kevin Costner. Stephen Baldwin will be battling it out with Kevin Costner in a New Orleans court today against allegations that the actor had been duped into giving up his shares in a multi-million dollar deal.
Baldwin is suing Costner for being duped into selling his shares in Ocean Therapy Solutions, just before the company landed an $18 million deal to clean up the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010.
Stephen Baldwin, brother of actor Alec Baldwin, claims that Costner and his business partner Patrick Smith did not share information about a meeting they had with a BP executive to put down an $18 million deposit for 32 of Costner's devices.
Baldwin and his business partner Spyridon Contogouris claim they were deceived into letting go of their shares in OTS - with Baldwin owning 10 percent and Contogouris 28 percent. The pair are suing Costner for over $21 million dollars.
Meanwhile Costner says there was no firm deal agreed at the time Baldwin let go of his shares.
Both Baldwin and Costner appeared in court today and the two reportedly did not interact with each other.
