Beck revealed a video teaser and new song, Blue Moon, ahead of the release of his album, Morning Phase, which is due out on Feb. 26.

The musician revealed a 2 minute video teaser featuring the pressing of the album soundtracked to Blue Moon.

It's been a long wait since 2008's Modern Guilt but sampling the new track it seems like it might have been worth it. The song will also feature on the Girls soundtrack and on an upcoming episode of the show.

The singer-songwriter spoke about the inspirations behind and what to expect from the 12-track-album with Rolling Stone in Nov. last year.

Beck defined the soundscape of the album as being nestled in "California music."

He went on to elaborate about his musical influences on this album. "The songs are coming out of a California tradition. I'm hearing the Byrds, Crosby Stills and Nash, Gram Parsons, Neil Young - the bigger idea of what that sound is to me," he said.

While speaking of his work process as a musician he suggested that it wasn't very constructed. "I'm just fumbling around with chords and a mood. Hopefully something emerges," he said.

The album deals with themes of optimism and perseverance, the songwriter seeks to offer a positive message with this record.

"It's not heavy-handed, but it's in there," Beck says of the concept. "There's this feeling of tumult and uncertainty, getting through that long, dark night of the soul - whatever you want to call it," he told the music publication. "These songs were about coming out of that - how things do get better."
