‘How I Met Your Mother’ Season 9 Spoilers: Barney To Get Blatantly Honest Due to 'Truth Serum'? [VIDEO]
Barney may finally reveal several long-kept secrets after he gets to a new level of drunkenness on How I Met Your Mother.
An official synopsis from CBS for Season 9, Episode 14, Unpause, reads:
"When Barney drinks too much, Ted and robin take advantage of him and get him to reveal secrets he's been hiding for years. Meanwhile, Marshall does everything he can to avoid fighting with Lily."
A sneak peek video for the episode shows Barney revealing bizarre secrets to Ted and Robin after drinking the night before the wedding.
"Yeah, I need to get my ear hair trimmed in the morning, it's like a rainforest in there," Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) said in the clip.
After Robin (Cobie Smulders) asked why he would reveal the information, Barney replied, "Because it's the truth, also, I peed a little on my tie at the urinal."
Unpause To Feature a 'Milestone Moment' Between Ted and the Mother?
Ted (Josh Radnor), who suspects something is up, then tests Barney with an ultimate question about which of the two men are taller.
Barney will then reveal that Ted has always been taller, and Barney wears lifts in his shoes.
The confession then gets Ted and Robin to try and get all of Barney's secrets out of him, because they realize he is 'truth serum drunk.'
Previous spoilers for the episode revealed that despite the show's usual light-hearted comedy, Unpause would take a more serious turn due to Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) fighting. The couple, who has been married since the show's second season finale, is facing tough decisions due to their dream jobs. Lily is supposed to be heading to Italy for a year, while Marshall has taken a judge position in New York.
How I Met Your Mother airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
