Tamar Braxton has endured a successful year after her hit-single, Love and War debuted at No.2 on Billboard's 200 albums last September, but she was not all the way satisifed when her sisters sent their well wishes through Instagram and Twitter.

Fans saw the drama unfold on the family's hit-reality show, Braxton Family Values, when Tamar confronted them about it.

Months later, the singer received three Grammy nominations and this time around, her sisters picked up the phone and actually called her.

"I got multiple texts from them as well, congratulating me," Tamar said in an interview with ABC. "And Toni's the most. She says if I rub her Grammys it will bring me good luck."

Love & War is nominated for Best urban contemporary album, Best R&B song and R&B performance. Her husband Vincint Herbert said he had faith in his wife all along.

"I knew when she got the album together, she'd be great," Herbert said, who also manages Lady Gaga.

Reality TV has been a helping hand for Tamar, but she admits that one of the reasons she's been successful onscreen is because she's been working on her career behind the scenes.

"The difference is I'm not a lucky girl who got a chance to be on a reality show and decided to do a record," Braxton said. "I am a singer who's on a reality show, who got an opportunity to do an album, so it was backwards for me. I was always a singer first, and I will always be a singer first."
