NBC's Hannibal is back for its second offering, and the psychological thriller's introduction of Margot Verger has fans questioning how canonical the character will be.

Set to enter the fray late in the season, Morgot will be played by Katharine Isabelle. Another patient of the cannibalistic Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen), is trying to recover from the abuse she suffered at the hands of her serial killer twin brother, according to TV Line. The site's original announcement regarding Margot implied that she will potentially be entering into a romantic relationship with Will, a statement that caused concerned considering Margot is canonically a lesbian.

Series creator Bryan Fuller quickly took to Twitter to clear up any misconceptions.

"Don't worry! Margot is a proud member of the LGBT community!" Fuller explained to a fan.

However, Fuller didn't completely rule out any sort of romantic interest between the two characters, stating that, since Hannibal the series comes before Tom Harris' Hannibal, the Margot fans will see in the upcoming season has not fully developed into the Margot of the novel.

"Remember, these are the early days. So the Margot from Hannibal is a future version of the character. We've got to get there," Fuller tweeted.

Meanwhile, Isabelle is taking the extra time to look through the source material.

"Doing my homework. For my job. On my favorite show. Margot Verger indeed. @NBCHannibal #Hannibal #dreamjob," Isabelle tweeted along with a photo of Harris' novel.
