'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers: DJ Qualls Warns Garth Might Not Be A Werewolf [PHOTOS]; Amusing 'Sharp Teeth' To Deal With 'Myth Of The Season' [VIDEO]
Garth Fitzgerald IV in back in the Wincheter's lives, but he seems to have a slight werewolf problem.
The quirky hunter went AWOL after last season's "Southern Comfort" and slipped up when it came to looking after Kevin Tran (Osric Chau). In the wake of Kevin's death, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) find Garth (DJ Qualls) unconscious in a hospital. When he comes to, the former dentist gives the boys the slip, kicking off the events of "Sharp Teeth."
According to the "Sharp Teeth" preview, Garth has crossed from the hunter to the hunted and is living life as a werewolf. Qualls, however, warned fans that the preview might not be telling them the whole truth.
"Gonna live tweet next week's #Supernatural episode. Join me," Qaullis tweeted following the release of the preview on Tuesday night. "I won't speak about what you saw. Keep in mind, promos can be misleading..."
While Qualls himself could be misleading his followers, the tweet gives viewers something to think about as they prepare for this Tuesday's episode.
Despite the serious nature of Garth's predicament, writer Adam Glass has hinted that the character will be just as amusing as ever.
"OK #Supernatural. Back 2 work. Looking at dailies from #912," Glass tweeted during filming in November. "A certain guest star is making me laugh. Man I love this job."
Although "Sharp Teeth" will be a stand-alone episode and deviate from the Winchesters' ongoing battle with heaven and hell, Glass promises that it will still deal with the overarching myth of the season.
"Excited for tomorrow's episode of #Supernatural," Glass wrote on Monday. "It's a stand alone that dives into the myth of the season and the series. Intro's new stuff."
