Joss Whedon will be sending his cast of heroes on a world tour in order to film The Avengers: Age of Ultron

Scheduled to begin filming at England's Shepparton Studios in April, the sequel to 2012's The Avengers continues to attract rumors of multiple foreign locales. From Italy to Korea to South Africa, the Age of Ultron plot seems to be taking on a more global agenda than its predecessor.

Only one shooting location has been confirmed, and that is Bard Fortress in northern Italy, according to Coming Soon. Announced on Friday by Augusto Rollandin, the Governor of Valle d'Aosta, it is still unknown what the imposing structure will be used for, although some speculate that it could be the headquarters of Baron Wolfgang von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann).

Meanwhile, South Korea may also play host to Joss Whedon's crew. While Italy's time in the spotlight may only amount to second unit shots, Twitch is currently claiming that Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) will be on hand as the Marvel production takes over Seoul. However, Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) claims there are no plans to shout in South Korea - at least not yet.

"No plan at this moment for Avengers to Shoot in Korea, but the Marvel universe is big," Ruffalo tweeted on Jan. 19, carefully leaving the door open for the possibility.

Lastly, the film has long been rumored to be heading down to South Africa, a piece of gossip that has left many Marvelites hoping Age of Ultron will work to introduce the Black Panther.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1, 2015. Click the video below to see a teaser from the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con.
