‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ NEW TRAILER: Someone Dies In Bucky Barnes & Steve Rogers Fight? [WATCH]
The new trailer for Marvel's highly anticipated Captain America: The Winter Soldier aired during Super Bowl XLVIII Feb. 2, and this time, fans were treated to a darker look at the conflicts between Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.
The trailer opens with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) telling Captain America (Chris Evans) about his new formidable enemy, as scenes of his creation and strengthening are shown before he is released to wreak havoc.
"Most of the intelligence community doesn't believe he exists. The ones that do call him the Winter Soldier," she said. "He's a ghost. You'll never find him."
The trailer then segues into Steve Rogers clashes with S.H.I.E.L.D., where Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford) informs him that welcoming the new world often involved tearing the old one down. The move however creates enemies.
The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) himself then appears on-screen to start wreaking havoc, and begins by blowing up Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) car, before he begins heading to the S.H.I.E.L.D. captain, holding his gun in the process.
As he faces off against his old friend turned new enemy, the Captain is then seen in combative scenes where Bucky uses his own shield against him, rips cars apart, and shoots off an endless supply of bullets.
The trailer also gives fans a more in-depth look at new hero, The Falcon (Anthony Mackie), as he pledges to help Captain America, despite not knowing much about fighting evil.
"How do we know the good guys from the bad guys?" he asked.
"If they're shooting at you, they're bad," Captain America answered.
The trailer also provides new hints that imply a major character will die before the movie ends, as a brief glance at a scene showing Black Widow and Captain America tearily going to identify a body in a morgue flashes across the screen amid all the action.
