'Avengers 2' War Machine To Join The Vision On Screen? Don Cheadle Talks 'Age Of Ultron' [VIDEO]
The Vision has hoped on board for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and War Machine may not be far behind.
With production dates for his 2015 Avengers sequel closing in, Joss Whedon is busy stockpiling superheroes for Marvel's Phase Three capstone film. The writer/director's most recent casting move placed Paul Bettany in the role of the Vision, but Whedon may still have a few surprise announcements up his sleeve.
Although the highly-anticipated film is already bursting at the seems with heroes, many believe that War Machine could make the jump to Age of Ultron from last summer's Iron Man 3.
Portrayed by Don Cheadle, Colonel James Rhodes/War Machine could prove handy in the battle to stop James Spader's Ultron. A casting announcement previously confirmed suspicions that Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) would be the unwitting creator of Ultron, and Rhodes' intimate familiarity with Tony Stark's technology might be enough to earn him a spot in the storyline.
Cheadle, however, is keeping quiet on the subject.
"This is another thing we can never talk about. They post people outside of our homes and if we mention anything about any Marvel project, you know, you see the red dot," Cheadle joked on Conan in late January, miming a rifle's laser dot on his chest.
Even without War Machine The Avengers: Age of Ultron is jam-packed with Marvel favorites, including Iron Man, Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), the Vision, Ultron, and Baron Wolfgang von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann).
