Deena Cortese, who stars in the popular TV show "Jersey Shore," was arrested in Seaside Heights, New Jersey on Sunday.

Deena Nicole Cortese, 25 also known as "The Blast," was arrested for disorderly conduct after a borough officer spotted her standing in the middle of a street, according to Seaside Heights Police Chieft Tommy Boyd, WNBC reports.

The reality TV actress was reportedly dancing and impeding the flow of traffic, Detective Steve Korman told the New Jersey Ledger.

"She appeared intoxicated," Korman told the newspaper.

Cortese was taken to police headquarters, charged with disorderly conduct and was released on the same day.

Media outlets published photographs of the curvy actress being picked up by her parents at the police station on Sunday.

Cortese is a dental assistant from New Egypt, NJ. She described herself as "loud, outgoing, random, silly and very positive," with a bubbly personality, according to her bio in the show's website.

She reportedly loves to party but has insisted that she knows how to tone it down, the bio says.

"Jersey Shore" began shooting its new season in Seaside Heights last week.

The incident sparked criticism over MTV's popular TV show with many Internet users saying that the cast does nothing "to make society any better."
